WireTrim® is the one invention that has propelled the Spray-On Truck Liner Industry from relative obscurity to the prominent place that it holds today in the automotive after-market. Patented around the world, the main function of WireTrim® Edge Cutting Tape is trimming through strong coatings from the bottom up. The method involves the use of a small high-strength cutting filament, adhered to the edge of adhesive tape and positioned on a surface along the desired trim line where the coating is to be applied. Additional masking material can be used in addition to the WireTrim® tape to protect all surfaces where the coating is not wanted. After applying a coating, the filament is pulled upwards from beneath the new coating, achieving a clean cut from the bottom up, separating the masking material and tape for easy removal from the border of the new coating. The method produces a perfect edge without leaving a mark or in any way damaging the exposed surface or disturbing the adhesion of the new coating.

Langeman manufactures WireTrim® using single and double-sided adhesive tapes with various cutting filaments, depending on the application and strength of the coating. The most common filaments used are high-tensile metal wire and braided synthetic fiber; however, we have developed many proprietary products for customers with unique applications.

ProLine is the benchmark of our products, featuring an adhesive surface on both sides of the tape. This permits additional masking by positioning the tape to a surface, removing the outside liner, and applying masking paper or plastic directly to the back of ProLine. The high-tack adhesive allows rough handling and surface preparation right up to the edge and eliminates coating material from bleeding past the edge of the trim line.
